In 1989, 30 years ago, the 11-Month Implant Training Program started as you might expect, as an 11-month training program. The program consisted of one weekend per month with day-long lectures on Saturday and Sunday. It was offered at the University of Miami from 1989-1999 and later at other universities around the country on average once every three years.
Then, as now, the program included speakers on treatment planning, implant placement, soft tissue management, prosthetics, marketing, and more. The course curriculum included everything needed to become successful in getting started with dental implants.
The program also includes a combination of online lectures and exams (for additional CE hours), classroom lectures, pig jaw workshops, cadaver workshops, and live surgeries to augment the experience. Now, in partnership with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, the 11-Month Implant Training Program has a new home in this exciting city. We look forward to welcoming you into the graduating Class of 2019.
The 11-Month Training Program was held initially at the University of Miami, in Coral Gables, Florida (about 5 miles west of downtown Miami) and has not been held as an annual program since. But due to high demand and continued interest among existing and potential students, 11-month implant training was offered approximately every three years in various parts of the country.
Students who complete the 11-month program will earn 210 continuing education credit hours. For 2019 the University of Nevada, Las Vegas a public research university in the Las Vegas suburb of Paradise, about 2 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, will host our program.
